Teno Rural Park

Teno Rural Park is one of the most scenic protected areas in Tenerife and a strong counterpoint to the island’s resort zones. This is the northwest at its most dramatic: ridgelines, deep ravines, isolated hamlets and roads that twist between mountain country and the sea.
The park is not one single attraction. It is a wider landscape that includes places such as Masca, Teno Alto, El Palmar and Punta de Teno, each showing a different side of the region.
Why go
Come to Teno if you want hikes, big drives and a sense of Tenerife as a rugged Atlantic island rather than a beach destination. It is one of the most rewarding areas for walkers and photographers.
Practical notes
Road access, weather and visibility can all shape the day here, so it pays to keep plans flexible. Teno is best explored slowly, with time for stops rather than a rushed circuit.
