Teno Alto
TenerifeTeno Alto is one of the most atmospheric highland corners of northwest Tenerife. Set above the coast and linked to the wider Teno landscape, it feels rural in the strongest sense: exposed ridges, scattered hamlets, grazing country and roads that seem to end in open sky.
This is not somewhere to come for attractions in the usual sense. You come for walking country, quiet and a more traditional feel than the coast below.
Why go
Teno Alto is best for hikers, drivers exploring the northwest and travelers who want Tenerife’s wild side without the pressure of a headline attraction. It pairs naturally with El Palmar, Buenavista del Norte and the wider Teno Rural Park.
Practical notes
Treat Teno Alto as a landscape stop rather than a one-site visit. Weather and visibility can change quickly here, so it is worth allowing flexibility and choosing a clear day if possible.
