Los Silos
Tenerife | GPS: 28.3663092, -16.8178784Los Silos is one of the quieter stops on Tenerife’s northwest coast, a place that suits travelers who enjoy small-town atmosphere more than sightseeing lists. It sits between the sea and the mountains, with a gentle local pace and a shoreline that is more about Atlantic bathing and views than classic beach tourism.
Compared with nearby Garachico, Los Silos is less showy and even quieter, which is exactly the point. It works well for a coast drive stop, a low-key overnight base or a swim-and-walk break in the northwest.
Why go
The town is best known for its natural swimming area and its relaxed setting on a scenic stretch of coast. It also makes a useful stop between Garachico, Buenavista del Norte and the Teno area if you want to see a less-developed side of Tenerife.
What the area offers
Los Silos is more about mood than marquee attractions. You come for the Atlantic edge, the mountain backdrop, fresh air and an everyday local feel. It is a good place to slow a road trip down rather than speed one up.
Practical notes
Visits here are often short unless you are staying in the northwest, but that does not make them less worthwhile. Los Silos is a good reminder that some of Tenerife’s strongest moments come from small places rather than headline sights.
